Three Questions to Determine SR&ED Eligibility

Jeff Christie, Partner at Boast Capital, shares three questions that we ask to determine whether your projects are eligible for SR&ED tax incentives.

How To Determine SR&ED Eligibility

Here’s what he had to say:

Are you innovating or doing some sort of experimental development? There are three things we’re going to ask you:

The first question is what are you trying to achieve on a technical level?

The second, what types of challenges technically are there around trying to get that achievement or final advancement?

And the third? What’s the iterative process you went thru? Did you just figure it out? Or did you actually go thru a scientific methodology to try and come to the end (result)?

Why do we ask these questions? We’re trying to establish if there was a scientific or technological uncertainty in your development that will (determine) the possibility of filing a SR&ED claim.

Want to know whether your project is SR&ED eligible? Contact us and we’ll help you figure it out.
